Well I have to say it was the best Halloween we've had yet. Francis was more than aware of the whole excitement of dressing up in costume and thrived on the idea of running door to door to receive a variety of candies after the sun went down. But I have to say I got just as much enjoyment seeing the true joy spread across Alistair's face throughout the whole day.
Good ol' pinterest allowed me to search for a doable costume I could create the night before after dashing into a craft store to get the basics. I truly enjoyed making the little fire engine. I couldn't wait to slip the costume over his chair and see the enjoyment the rolled across his face.It was equally special to have the kids and staff all take note of his costume which made him just as much a part of the day as anyone else that roamed the hallways that day.
Typical me always doing things last minute, I had no idea what either of my kids were going to dress as until the afternoon before Halloween. I checked a few stores for last min deals but didn't see anything right for Francis. But suddenly I remembered I had this perfect tiger costume Alistair wore the year before. She is all about the character Daniel Tiger right now so it was right up her alley.
So dressed for success the kids had a perfectly stimulating Halloween and loved staying up late with their friends to devour all sorts of sweets that they had acquired.
